InBody - the gold standard in body composition scanners

  • It is an advanced, non-invasive body composition analyzer which reveals exactly what you are made of. The InBody uses BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) technology, which measures total body water by reading the impedance (resistance of low-level currents through the body). Your body is broken down into its core components: fat, muscle, and water. Your report gives you an in-depth understanding of your weight and health and helps you track your nutrition and exercise progress. Tracking the numbers allows you to make adjustments to your nutrition and exercise practices to meet your health goals.  Once you have your baseline, you will know what you need to lose, gain or maintain to optimize your health!

  • Unlike other body composition analyzers, an InBody Scan does not use empirical estimations such as age, gender, ethnicity, athleticism, or body shape.

  • The scan only takes 30 seconds! Results are available immediately and can be emailed and/or sent to your InBody app on your mobile device.

  • For the most accurate results, we recommend following these preparation guidelines.

    • Do not eat for 3-4 hours before testing

    • Do not exercise for 6-12 hours before testing

    • Ensure access to both feet with removable footwear and socks

    • Do not drink caffeine on the day of your test, and be well hydrated

    • Do not drink alcohol the night before your test as this can skew results due to dehydration

    • Do not shower or sauna immediately prior to the test

    • Avoid putting lotion on hands and feet before testing

    • Individuals with pacemakers or other electronic devices should not use the InBody

    • For women, avoid testing if you are pregnant or menstruating

    • For consistency, wear the same clothing every scan and come at the same time of day for each scan

  • If you have a pacemaker, you cannot have an InBody test.  For women, avoid testing if you are pregnant or currently menstruating.

If you have had a limb amputated, you will not be able to complete the scan.

*If you have metal in your body such as surgical screws, or have had breast implants, these may skew results. However, they will be consistent across tests as long as they remain in your body, so you can still track your changes with the InBody.

  • Yes. We recommend lightweight workout attire. For consistency, wear the same clothing for every scan. You will need to remove your shoes and socks for the test.
